Unlike chopped glass fibers, is a fine powder used to thicken resin. To prepare your equipment for metal-filled compounds, start with glass-filled material in the same base resin—it’s less expensive. Also, avoid allowing metallic filler to sit in the barrel at high temperatures for long periods of time—this could degrade the base resin.
