IRVING, Texas – PolyOne today launched a new range of organic-based colorants, part of the Colorsperse™ portfolio, at the South West Society of Cosmetics Chemists Supplier’s Day. In response to rising consumer demand for makeup that contains natural ingredients, these new color dispersions have been developed for lipsticks and anhydrous (oil-based) cosmetics. This new line incorporates a plant-based carrier system and leads to a cleaner working environment than is typical with dry powder pigments.

Avient will also feature the latest Mevopur™ Healthcare Bio-based Polymer Solutions from its portfolio, with a new standard color range centered on bio-based polypropylene (bio-PP). The bio-based content of the polymers varies between 70 and 100% depending on the polymer. They can be processed on standard injection-molding machines and extruders and recycled in the same recycling channels as conventional fossil-based polymers.

Avient developed a Color Simulation Tool to calculate the final color of a PCR-based end article and that can be used to: Predict final colors, based on a PCR grade and concentration Based on PCR spectral data, the tool delivers the calculated spectra, a final color visualization and offers three-dimensional color space simulations, that covers the workable color space.
