Polyamide (i.e. nylon) is preferred plastic in many high end applications due to its crystalline structure and high melting temperature. It is more difficult for a TPE to form a melt bond with a semi- crystalline polymer, such as polyamide, than with an amorphous polymer like polycarbonate. Nylon 66 has the highest melt temperature, i.e. 265 oC which would require a TPE with good, high temperature melt stability.
