FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany – 2024年10月15日 – Avient Corporation will exhibit its latest sustainable and specialized materials solutions and services for the plastics industry, including two new product launches, at the 29th Fakuma International Trade Fair for Plastics Processing, held today through 2024年10月19日. New product launches include globally produced recycled-content thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) offering up to 60% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content and new metallic pre-colored sulfone compound colorants offering gold, bronze, and silver aesthetic effects.
New and recent product launches highlighted at the show include:
- NEW Colorant Chromatics™ Metallic Effect Pre-Colored Sulfone Formulations: new pre-colored sulfone solutions with metallic effects, including gold, bronze, and silver, developed to emulate finishes that use metal without the weight and secondary processing but have the benefits of sulfone polymers, including ultra-high temperature and chemical resistance. Especially useful for consumer goods, aerospace, and healthcare, they support extended shelf life, multiple sterilizations, lower energy requirements, and lower volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, aligning with Avient’s commitment to developing sustainable solutions that can appear luxurious. This new technology also reinforces Avient's collaboration with BASF in offering the global market metallic-colored grades of Ultrason® high-performance polymers (link to full press release above).
- NEW reSound™ REC GP 7820 TPEs: new grades containing up to 60% recycled content from either PCR streams or a combination of PCR and post-industrial recycled (PIR) raw materials, offering a reduced product carbon footprint (PCF) compared to virgin TPEs. Produced in North America, Europe, and Asia, they offer multinational customers global access to a more sustainable alternative to virgin TPE grades (link to full press release above).
- NEW Collaboration Campaign Showcase with Merck: the "Unbox a World of Endless Possibilities" campaign, an interactive demonstration tool in collaboration with Merck, highlights the innovative use of effect and functional pigments for sustainable packaging solutions. The kit contains translucent polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and opaque/gradient polypropylene (PP) bottles enhanced with effect pigments, laser marking, and printed sleeves. Learn more here.
- RECENTLY LAUNCHED Colorant Chromatics™ Evoluscend™ Non-PFAS High-Temperature Mold Release Additive: formulated without intentionally added per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), this new non-PFAS additive can be used to enhance the manufacturing processes of high-pressure injection molding (link to full press release here).
- RECENTLY LAUNCHED reSound™ REC AF 7210 TPEs: specifically developed for automotive interior applications, these new TPE grades from Avient contain 51-59% recycled content, with a minimum of 37% of that content from PCR sources, including closed-loop feedstock. This supports new targets proposed by the European Commission as part of the End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV) Directive (link to full press release here).
- PTFE-Free LubriOne™ Internally Lubricated Formulations: additional grades that extend Avient’s LubriOne™ Formulations portfolio and are made without fluorinated lubricants such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which may be classifiable as a per-and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS). They are available across multiple polymer systems, including PA6, PA66, PC, POM, PBT, PPS, and PK, and provide comparable performance to conventional internally lubricated grades (link to full press release here).
- Maxxam™ FR NHFR Flame Retardant Polyolefin Formulations: non-halogen flame-retardant polyolefins that are engineered to meet stringent flammability performance requirements up to UL 94 V0/5VA without the use of halogenated flame-retardant systems. They support compliance with regulatory standards without compromising performance and provide an alternative to brominated polymers for applications such as housings for appliances.
Fakuma, the world’s leading trade fair for plastic processing, will take place in Friedrichshafen, Germany, from October 15-19, 2024. Material experts from Avient will be at booth 5106 in Hall B5 to meet with customers and discuss their material challenges.
