SAN DIEGO – 2024年3月18日 – Today, Avient Corporation, a premier provider of specialized and sustainable materials solutions and services, announced it will highlight Polystrand™ thermoplastic composite solutions, including new ThermoBallistic™ ballistic-resistant panels, next week at the American Composites Manufacturing Association (ACMA) Thermoplastic Composites Conference (TCC), a conference dedicated to the advancement of thermoplastic composite materials and applications through education and networking.  

Polystrand continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite materials offer high strength, weight reduction, and corrosion resistance for products across a broad range of industries and markets. The Polystrand product portfolio includes:  

• ThermoBallistic panels that provide structural bullet-resistant reinforcement to meet UL 752 Level 3 ballistic rating for interior and exterior architectural surfaces and components at a lighter weight than traditional panel materials
• Polystrand continuous fiber reinforced unidirectional tapes and multi-axial laminates, including recycled content formulations
• Hammerhead™ Marine Composite Panels – structural solutions to replace wood and other materials in boat-building applications
• Polystrand structural sandwich panels  

Additionally, as part of the TCC conference program, Jonathan Spiegel, Senior Engineer of Advanced Composites at Avient, will co-present with Benjamin Willis, Director of Product Development at Re:Build Manufacturing, on the Manufacture of Sandwich Structure of Recycled HDPE and Continuous Glass Reinforced HDPE Composite using Extrusion-Compression Molding.
