Pre-colored Geon™ FX Metal rigid vinyl lets manufacturers achieve a bold metallic look without the limitations, costs and environmental challenges seen with other methods, such as plating, painting or film lamination. 

They are formulated with renewable plant resources and are a good alternative for markets and applications affected by Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) guidelines. These bio-based plastisols can be used in a variety of manufacturing processes, including dip coating, dip molding, rotational molding, and cast or laminate coating. We offer a wide variety of color and additive concentrates that are essential to improving the performance of crop-protection films, including both woven and nonwoven materials that protect plants from insects and sudden changes in temperature. By limiting transmission of infrared rays, IR absorbers can reduce daytime temperatures in the greenhouse, while light-diffusing agents scatter the sun’s rays for more uniform plant growth.

The new lab and plant will conduct cutting edge chemistry testing and evaluations to help customers tackle and overcome the challenge of plastics recycling and the goal of a circular economy. The demonstration plant mimics real world recycling in a research environment. 

Polymer manufacturer: efforts that contribute towards a reduced carbon footprint include efficient manufacturing equipment, renewable power sources, and recycling waste that can occur through manufacturing.  Carbon sequestration, or carbon capture: the idea of polymer manufacturers using a supplier that provides plant-based raw materials, as plants capture carbon dioxide during their growth – rather than it being emitted into the atmosphere. Polymers with bio-based content, specifically with raw materials derived from plants, are typically shown as negative carbon emissions because of the carbon dioxide consumption that occurs.
