PARIS — 2025年1月21日 — At Pharmapack 2025, Avient Corporation, an innovator of materials solutions, will highlight its range of colorants and additives for supporting medication identification, promoting brand differentiation, and enhancing the performance and sustainability of medical devices and pharmaceutical packaging.

Avient’s Mevopur™ Healthcare Colorants and Formulations, along with Mevopur™ Healthcare Functional Additives, were introduced to the market 15 years ago. They can be used to accelerate the development of healthcare products and help reduce the risk of non-compliance. This portfolio combines expertise in polymer formulation with controlled manufacturing conditions and robust change control management beyond the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) identification number. It also utilizes raw materials that have been pre-tested to meet healthcare standards. Over the years, the range of color and additive concentrates has expanded to address the healthcare industry’s evolving performance and regulatory needs.

“Our Mevopur portfolio is constantly growing and adapting, but what remains unchanged is our commitment to helping our customers make high-quality healthcare products,” said Volker Dickfeld, Sr. Marketing Manager Healthcare Global for Color & Additives in Avient. “Our latest developments include pre-colored polymer solutions for well plates used in polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests, a growing field leveraging molecular biology to provide a swift diagnosis of various infectious diseases. Specially developed for polystyrene and polypropylene PCR plates, these white and black formulations help maintain optimized signal transmission and minimize crosstalk that could lead to faulty results in quantitative fluorescence testing. The materials are produced under a third-party certified ISO 13485:2016 quality management system and backed by comprehensive change control of raw materials, formulation, and manufacturing standards to enable consistent batch-to-batch quality.”

Other highlighted polymer solutions for manufacturers of drug delivery devices, in vitro diagnostic equipment, and pharmaceutical packaging at the show include:

  • Mevopur™ Healthcare Bio-based Polymer Solutions — to help reduce carbon footprint, this range of color and additive concentrates are formulated with bio-based polypropylene, polyethylene, polycarbonate, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, and styrenic polymers, offering significant carbon footprint reductions of 70% to 120% compared to their fossil-fuel-based counterparts, and manufactured under the same quality management system as other Mevopur products, they are drop-in solutions that can be used like their fossil-fuel-based counterparts in the injection molding, blow molding, and extrusion of medical devices and pharmaceutical packaging
  • Mevopur™ chemical foaming agents — to reduce material use by up to 20% depending on part geometry and wall thickness, these biocompatible chemical foaming solutions are suitable for the injection molding and extrusion of polyolefins, styrenics, and copolymers
  • Standard color ranges — for drug identification and increased speed to market
  • Custom color and special effects — for brand recognition and differentiation and to increase patient adherence to treatment plans
  • European Pharmacopeia 3.1 tested in white and amber shades — specially formulated for pharmaceutical packaging
  • Functional additives — to enhance the performance and reliability of drug delivery devices and in vitro diagnostics by promoting low retention, low friction, conductivity, sterilization stability, ultraviolet (UV) stability, solvent-free laser marking, and more

Pharmapack 2025, Europe’s leading packaging and drug delivery device event, will take place January 22–23 at the Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles. Visitors interested in learning more about Avient 's healthcare polymer colorants and additives can visit booth C103 in Hall 7.2.
