FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany – 2023年10月9日 – At next week’s 28th Fakuma International Trade Fair for Plastics Processing, Avient Corporation will exhibit its latest innovations, providing sustainable and specialized material solutions for the plastics industry. These comprise several new product launches, including statically dissipative and electrically conductive thermoplastic elastomers, additives designed to enhance the recycling of polyolefins, and engineered materials and performance additives that can help customers conform to proposals from the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) and US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to restrict the use of polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
New and recent product launches highlighted at the 2023 show include:
- NEW Stat-Tech™ TPE Static Dissipative & Electrically Conductive Thermoplastic Elastomers – Formulated to offer electrical resistivity from 10⁰Ω to 10¹⁰Ω. They can be used in applications for critical electrical components to help prevent electromagnetic and radio frequency interference (EMI /RFI) and the build-up of static electricity (link to full press release above).
- NEW PTFE-Free LubriOne™ Internally Lubricated Formulations - These grades extend Avient’s LubriOne™ Formulations portfolio and are made without fluorinated lubricants such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). They are available across multiple polymer systems and provide comparable performance to conventional internally lubricated grades (link to full press release above).
- NEW Cesa™ Flame Retardant Additives, PTFE-Free and Non-Halogen for Polycarbonate – These new additives are formulated without PTFE, which is part of per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS). They are also halogen-free in accordance with the IEC 61249-2-21 standard. Suitable for various polycarbonates, including recycled grades, these flame-retardant additives help achieve GWFI temperatures up to 960°C according to IEC 60695-2-12 testing protocols (link to full press release above).
- NEW Cesa™ Unify™ A4R - This latest addition to the Additives for Recycling portfolio of solutions is a polyolefin compatibilizer developed to enhance and support the use of recycled polyolefins. It helps bring incompatible polymers, such as PP and PE, together by forming them into a homogenous polymer mixture that increases mechanical properties based on polymer modification (link to full press release above).
- Colorant Chromatics™ High-Temperature Colorants - Avient and BASF are now collaborating to offer colored grades of Ultrason® high-performance polymers to the global market. The colored grades feature BASF’s Ultrason® polyarylethersulfones (PAES) as a high-quality base polymer combined with Avient’s Colorant Chromatics™ high-temperature color formulation expertise for color concentrates and pre-colored solutions. - Sustainable Solutions Portfolio – Avient has a range of sustainable solutions that can help customers meet sustainability goals, including recycled and bio-based polymers, colorants for recycled materials, a color prediction service that helps increase the use of PCR content, and additives that can help to enhance the recycling process.
